The project includes the refurbishment of a 5-storey student dormitory in prefab construction from the 1960s as well as a central wing built in skeleton construction, which connects dormitory A with dormitory B, which was renovated earlier.
The access and external entrances of the entire building were redesigned in the course of the renovation. The resulting new entrance areas thus enable barrier-free access for the first time.
The basic typology and functional arrangement of the dormitory, characterised by a symmetrical central corridor, was retained. Two comfortable single apartments each share an intermediate sanitary room. Generous community kitchens are popular and well-frequented meeting points supporting the range of leisure activities and community. A new student club was created in the basement, which due to its favorable location on the site, was directly connected to the outside area in the form of a spacious terrace.
