The planned daycare center will be built in the immediate vicinity of the Steinachtalhalle on a meadow-like open space. The building is planned as a single storey to enable direct connections between all group rooms and the outdoor facilities. 

The floor plan is divided into three successive zones running north-south. The first zone adjoining to the external access in the east is shared by all groups. In the southern part of this zone is the flexible multi-purpose room, which can be extended thanks to a mobile partition wall. The large dining room is located between the multi-purpose room and the main entrance. To the north of the main entrance are the staff areas of the daycare center and the plant room. In the north-eastern corner of the building (at the greatest distance from the 'noise-intensive' areas) is the kindergarten group's bedroom and the inclusion room. 

The second zone is a spacious communal zone that runs as a connecting 'spine' in a north-south direction. Glass surfaces with integrated doors allow visibility and direct access to the outside terraces. Several serving functions are set as boxes in this open common area. 

The third and largest zone adjoins the common ‘spine’ to the west and houses six clearly legible group room areas with an L-shaped floor plan. The three units of the kindergarten groups are located in the southern part, the three units of the crèche groups are mirrored in the northern part. Each unit has its own toilets and storage rooms. The main group rooms and secondary group rooms, located in the two legs of the L-shaped floor plan, open to the associated outdoor terraces. The group room units are accessed via central cloakroom areas, with two group units each sharing a cloakroom area. All three cloakrooms provide direct access to the outside play areas. 

Large window openings, with deep window reveals expanded into benches, allow visual connections to the outside area. In addition, several skylights ensure sufficient daylight in the larger rooms. The majority of the outdoor play areas will be grouped south of the planned building in the protected area behind the Steinachtalhalle.
